If
you haven't felt alpaca fleece before, you will be totally
amazed at how extraordinarily soft it is. It's just "WOW!"
Alpaca wool is not scratchy and has no lanolin, so it doesn't
trigger allergies. It's comparable to angora and cashmere
in its silky fineness, and yet it's strong and very warm.
Alpaca produces beautiful yarns, either handspun
or machine made. These yarns and alpaca blends are made into
exquisite luxury garments that are also functional and warm.
We have a selection of many different fine alpaca
products available in our farm store including alpaca rugs,
alpaca hats (knitted, woven and fur), purses, yarn, socks,
headbands, shawls, alpaca scarves, handmade soaps and much
more. Alpaca products made wonderful personal luxury items
and great gifts.
If you're close enough for a visit, we encourage
you to call and schedule a time. Otherwise, we'd be happy
to help you shop by phone at 304-496-9946 or
.

~ About Alpaca Fleece ~
Similar
to sheep, alpaca fleece is harvested annually in a process
that does not harm the alpacas. We have an annual "shearing
day" in the spring when all the alpacas are shorn
of their fleece. The alpacas are happy to be much cooler
for the hot summer months. The fleece can then be processed
into end-products or sent to a cooperative processing
organization.
Alpacas
(and their fleece, yarn, rovings and products) come
in more natural colors than any other fiber-producing
animal: white, beige, light fawn, medium fawn, dark
fawn, light brown, medium brown, dark brown, bay black,
true black, light silver gray, medium silver gray, dark
silver gray, light rose gray, medium rose gray, dark
rose gray. These colors are 100% natural as grown on
the animals and free of chemical dyes.
